Multiple happy people using devices

We aim to help significantly bridge the digital divide by getting very low-cost, high-speed internet to poverty-stricken communities, low-income families and individuals across the UK and eventually the globe that otherwise would not be able to afford it.

Using the latest technology, we are building a large-scale wireless mesh network that provides internet access to communities up and down the country. The mesh network consists of strategically placed access points to provide maximum coverage. This means that everyone regardless of economic status will be able to enjoy the high-speed internet that the more privileged have access to, without paying exorbitant prices.

In today’s digital age, internet access has become more critical than ever. The internet has transformed how we communicate, learn, work, and shop. It has become an essential utility for modern life. However, not everyone has equal access, leading to a phenomenon known as the “digital divide.” This divide has become a significant issue in the UK, with millions lacking access to affordable, high-speed internet.

The digital divide is the gap between those with access to digital technologies, such as the internet, and those without.

This divide is not just about access to the internet but also includes disparities in skills, education, income, technology and location. People who have no access to the internet miss out on all the benefits that come with it, such as access to information, job opportunities, education, and social connections. The digital divide can perpetuate inequalities and hinder progress in areas such as healthcare, education, and social mobility.

In the UK, the digital divide is a significant issue, with millions of people lacking access to affordable, high-speed internet. According to a recent report by the Office for National Statistics, around 1.5 million UK households have no internet access. Moreover, many people in rural areas and low-income households are unable to access high-speed internet, which puts them at a significant disadvantage.

The meshii foundation look for ideal connectivity solutions for communities with residents who lack internet access.

By working with locally based related Agencies, Charities, Advisors, Churches and community Halls, we will spread awareness on what options are available.

We will engage with these organisations through a number of mediums:

  • Community Digital Poverty Ambassadors
  • Information flyer drops
  • Social media groups
  • Shared awareness drives

In addition, we will be targeting low-income communities, households and individuals directly through the following ways:

  • Information flyer drops to Individuals / Households
  • Specific social media groups and communities

Donations for Tech:

Internet access has become an essential utility for modern life, and the digital divide has made it clear that only some have access to this crucial resource.

By donating a contribution towards the tech required to make high-speed internet accessible to others in a community you help make a direct impact in bridging the digital divide.

Share:

By sharing your unused internet to the meshii public wifi network, you can not only help provide affordable, high-speed internet to those who cannot access it but earn passive income from doing so.

There are two ways to make an immediate impact to this growing problem.

  1. Make a donation towards ownership of the tech required to share your unused internet, thereby earning a passive income.
  2. Register your interest in becoming a host of the tech required to share your unused internet, thereby earning a passive income.

Help us bridge the digital divide by joining the meshii foundation, and together, we can create a more equitable and connected society. Join the digital poverty revolution today!
